Parent Conferences

Parent conferences take place this Thursday evening and Friday afternoon. Please make phone calls to the parents of the students in your SLCs throughout the week encouraging them to attend either Thursday or Friday. Report cards will be distributed during the conferences. Information from the PNA Staff Handbook Regarding Parent Conferences can be found at the following link:

Per Session Sheet Reminders

As stated in the PNA Staff Handbook, a separate time card must be used for each per session activity. The card MUST be clocked in and out to record the exact time of arrival and departure, and the staff member’s name, file number, and signature must be on the card. A sign-in sheet must be submitted as documentation. All information at the top of the per session sheet must be filled out in order for the timesheet to be processed. Please see Ms. Franqui (gfranqui@schools.nyc.gov) if you have any questions.

Updating Bulletin Boards

Students feel a sense of pride in and ownership of their environment when their great work is showcased. An essential element of a Distinguished Physical Space is that “student work is showcased both inside and outside of the room”. In addition, as stated in the PNA Staff Handbook, “because bulletin boards are a visible indication of our school climate and philosophy, please take time to create effective, attractive displays that reflect the subject area, themes, and standards in your classrooms. When displaying student work, you should include your name, the course name, a description of the unit and/or an explanation of the work that is posted, a rubric, and teacher feedback”. Please ensure that you are attending to this important area of the Instructional Framework. In preparation for parent conferences, hallway bulletin board updates are due this Wednesday.

3-on-3 Tournament!

Thank you to the School Culture and Activities team for organizing a successful 3-on-3 Tournament. The tournament was well attended by students in all grades. The winning trio will receive a pizza party next week. All students and staff are welcomed to participate in these events. Stay tuned for more tournaments throughout the year!

Spirit Week Winners

Thank you to our Student Government team for organizing PNA Spirit Week. Staff and students participated by dressing-up in attire matching each day’s theme. Daily winners will be receiving recognition. We look forward to more events sponsored by our student government and newly elected officers.
