PNA Accreditation Committee
DOE and NY State regulations mandate an Accreditation Committee at all schools. Responsibilities of this committee include approving the following: curriculum (maps, syllabi, etc.), credit recovery, iLearn grades, and any other transcript updates, etc. This committee must have a representative from each department. This representative must be licensed in the department’s area. The committee must consist of one teacher in each of the following license areas: English, Math, Social Studies, Science (any), Spanish, and Art. Meetings will take weekly in the beginning of the term, and then as needed in the future. Departments will be selecting their representative during department meetings on Monday, January 30th. See Ms. Cook (scook6@schools.nyc.gov) if you have any questions.

Updated Spring Curriculum Maps & Syllabi Submission
The PNA Accreditation Committee will be reviewing all curriculum maps and syllabi for the Spring Term. It is imperative that all teachers submit updated maps and syllabi to department heads no later than Friday, February 3rd. Due to the large task that must be completed by the Accreditation Committee, extensions will not be granted. See Ms. Cook (scook6@schools.nyc.gov) if you have any questions.

Grade Change Policy
DOE policy now states that teacher grade changes based on student make-up work will no longer be allowed. As a result, the PNA Grade Change Form has been removed from the PNA website. Students will still be able to make-up work for a teacher in order to receive a credit; however, the newly defined PNA credit recovery process will be followed. This process is still in the development stage. Due to the change in the process, it is extremely important for all teachers to keep data on students who failed. You should be able to show which topic/skills a student failed to master in a course. More details will be communicated in the coming weeks. See Ms. Cook (scook6@schools.nyc.gov) if you have questions.

PNA Teacher Data Reflection & Action Plan
With the exception of Electives, all departments will be engaged in an item analysis of January Regents and Mock Regents exams. Department Heads have received the item analysis file. Once this item analysis is complete, all teachers should analyze the data for their students and complete the PNA Teacher Data Reflection & Action Plan Form. Departments will have two hours on Monday to engage in this work. The form can be found at the following link:
See Ms. Heller (aheller7@schools.nyc.gov) if you have questions.
