Tuesday, September 4th and Wednesday, September 5th are PD Days for teachers. All teachers will work from 8:00am to 2:50pm on these days. Please ensure you sign-in in the main office upon arrival and immediately report to your scheduled activity. The Schedules of Activities for these days can be found at the following links:

Fall & Spring Curriculum Maps

Department Heads will be collecting all curriculum maps (for the entire 2012 – 2013 school year) on Tuesday, September 4th. If your map is not going to be ready to submit, contact Ms. Cook (scook6@schools.nyc.gov) immediately.

Physical Space Walkthrough

A Physical Space walkthrough will be conducted at the end of day on Wednesday, September 5th. All teachers will receive formal feedback on their classrooms, specifically on the readiness of rooms to welcome students. Bulletin boards may be left empty; however, they must be covered. Bulletin board paper is available in the main office. You do not need to submit a supply request. If you need assistance with your physical space, contact Ms. Diaz (gdiaz3@schools.nyc.gov).

Classroom Libraries

As was the case last year, all classrooms must have a classroom library. Contact Ms. Diaz (gdiaz3@schools.nyc.gov) if you need book shelves or books.

Fall Afterschool Posting

PNA is looking for one math and one English teacher to teach a 9th period class two days a week. Interested teachers who are licensed in Mathematics, English, or Special Education should notify Mr. Liu (dliu2@schools.nyc.gov). The posting can be found at the following link:

PNA Teams Sign-up (REMINDER)

PNA’s Theory of Action states “the school is organized around the notion that collaboration and shared practices and strategies will create a supportive environment to enhance student achievement”. One cornerstone of our collaborative culture is teaming. As you are aware, PNA has several teams that meet periodically and drive most of the work of the school.
