Engagement Instructional Walkthrough
An Instructional Walkthrough will be conducted next week. The lens for the walkthrough will be Engagement. The PNA Instructional Framework Rubric will be used to gather data. Low inference observations will be gathered around the Danielson lenses that are aligned to Engagement on the rubric (Activities & Assignments, Grouping of Students, Instructional Materials & Resources, and Structure & Pacing). Teachers will receive the low inference observations collected, and a list of best practices will be generated. Administrators and Grade Team Leaders will be conducting the walkthrough. Please see the PNA Instructional Framework Rubric for additional details. The Rubric can be found at the following link:
Contact Ms. Cook (scook@pablonerudaacademy.org) if you have questions.
Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
Teachers will meet in assigned Professional Learning Communities during Friday’s Staff Meeting time. As a reminder, teachers are assigned to one of the following PLCs: Unit Planning, UDL, or Discussion Techniques. Contact Ms. Cook (scook@pablonerudaacademy.org) if you have questions.
Student Work (REMINDER)
As a reminder, this year, all teachers are working with students to create student work folders. As we enter the second marking period, all teachers should now be using the student work folders to hold significant pieces of student work (i.e. essays, projects, etc.). Student work folders should include the task, work, and assessment. Please also ensure student work is displayed on bulletin boards both inside and outside of classrooms. See Ms. Cook (scook@pablonerudaacademy.org) if you have questions.
PSATs (REMINDER)
PSAT's will be administered on Wednesday, October 17th. All 10th and 11th grade students will be taking the exam in the morning. 10th and 11th grade teachers will be proctoring in the morning. Most 9th and 12th grade students will be out on trips. Additional details will be communicated shortly. Contact Ms. Heller (aheller@pablonerudaacademy.org) if you have questions.
PBIS (REMINDER)
One of the PNA Instructional Expectations focus areas asks all teachers to fully adopt the PNA PBIS Program in their classrooms. When conducting observations, administrators are looking for evidence of the integration in the lesson. All teachers should ensure they are participating. See your Grade Team Leader if you have any questions.
Place Chairs on Desks at the End of Each Day (REMINDER)
In order to support our custodians, effective immediately, please ensure that your last class places their chairs on their desks before leaving each day. Contact Mr. Liu if you have questions (dliu@pablonerudaacademy.org).
Look Like a Student (REMINDER)
Part of the PNA PBIS program asks students to “Look Like a Student”. This includes hats off, pants pulled up, back-packs off, heads up, and following the PNA dress code. Please ensure that all students “look like students” in your classrooms at all times. Ensure you address any student who has their head down.
