Assessment/Data Best Practices
An Assessment/Data walkthrough was recently conducted. The walkthrough looked for evidence on bulletin boards and in student work folder bins. A list of best practices was developed using the low inference observations that were collected. Individual teachers will receive the low inference observations collected from their boards and bins. The list of best practices can be found at the link below:
Contact Ms. Diaz (gdiaz@pablonerudaacademy.org) if you have any questions.
Spring DYO Interim Assessments & Mock Regents
All departments will be working on designing, administering and grading Spring DYO assessments beginning at the March 22nd department meeting. Assessments are due to Ms. Heller by the end of the day on Friday, April 5th. Assessments will be administered between April 8th and April 19th. Grading will take place in department meetings on Friday, April 19th. All departments with Regents courses will then begin planning for the Mock Regents. Mock Regents will take place on Friday, May 3rd. Contact Ms. Heller (aheller@pablonerudaacademy.org) if you have questions.
Secure Personal Property
All personal property (including purses, cell phones, laptops, etc.) must be secured at all times. Items should be secured in a locked location. Personal items should not be left on desks, in unlocked drawers or closets, in the teacher’s lounge, etc. See Mr. Liu (dliu@pablonerudaacademy.org) if you do not have a locked location to store your personal items.
Teacher’s Choice (REMINDER)
On Monday, March 18th, Ms. Franqui will be putting Teacher’s Choice documents in all teachers’ mailboxes. April 3rd is the last day to make Teacher’s Choice purchases. All forms need to be returned to Ms. Franqui no later than Thursday, April 11th. Contact Ms. Franqui (gfranqui@pablonerudaacademy.org) if you have questions or need assistance.
School Surveys (REMINDER)
All student surveys have been distributed to SLC and Prep teachers.  Please ensure you are working with students to complete the surveys, and submit completed student survey cards to Ms. Heller.  All submitted surveys are tallied by grade and the grade with the highest submission rate will win a pizza party. Students who submit their parent's survey will be entered into a drawing for a gift card. Contact Ms. Heller (aheller@pablonerudaacademy.org) if you have questions.
SLC Curriculum Updates (REMINDER)
This spring, the SLC & College Readiness Team will be revising SLC curriculum. Revisions include adding units on the following topics: technology, career, and college readiness. The team will also work on re-writing 11th grade fall and 12th grade spring curriculum maps. Any staff member interested in participating in curriculum development is encouraged to attend SLC & College Readiness Team meetings. Meetings will begin after Spring Break. Contact Ms. Cook (scook@pablonerudaacademy.org) if you have questions.
Student Chairs (REMINDER)
As previously stated, all teachers must ensure student chairs are put up at the end of each day. Additionally, all student chairs should be taken down at the beginning of each day. Leaving chairs on desks creates a safety hazard for students. Please have students take down all chairs, even if no one will be sitting in the chair during the period.
