Students who need lockers
Many of you have been supporting students who do not have lockers.  Please do not personally hold/store student items so that we are consistent with our student handbook rules.  If you have been holding items on behalf of students, please let Ms. Del Valle (jdelvalle@pablonerudaacademy.org) or Ms. Reyes-Luciano (mreyesluciano@pablonerudaacademy.org) know so that they may support students on getting a locker.
Lesson Plan (Reminder)
As a reminder, the expectation for this year is that a copy of your lesson plan will be in the door basket outside your room each day.  Alternatively, you may keep an additional copy of your lesson plan in a binder or folder labeled “Lesson Plan” on your teacher desk.  A lesson rating will be negatively impacted if there is no lesson plan available.
Parent Outreach (Reminder)
Please ensure that you are reaching out to parents when students are not meeting classroom expectations.  Parents on the School Leadership Team noted that the communication they receive from teachers vary from non-existent to once a week.  Please ensure that we work as a team and spread the work load to make as many calls as possible.  Continue to document the outreach on Skedula.
Youth Court Referrals (Reminder)
The PNA Youth Court is a great alternative to traditional disciplinary action.  If you have a situation where you believe an alternative disciplinary action may be a superior response, please use the Youth Court Referral form.  The form can be accessed at the form page on our PNA google site. (https://sites.google.com/site/pablonerudaacademynyc/pna-meeting-notes). If you have any questions about the Youth Court, please contact Mr. Dinner (ldinner@pablonerudaacademy.org) or Ms. O’Connell (hoconnell@pablonerudaacademy.org).
Life Space Crisis Intervention – Spring Training
LSCI is a six day course designed to train teachers to teach students better ways to respond to future stressful events.  The training is free and can be taken for P Credit; Professional Development Hours; or Training rate for teachers, guidance counselors, and social workers.  There is a Spring Cohort held at Marta Valle High School in the Lower East Side: March 14, 21, 28; April 18; 25; May 2.  If you are interested please email Mr. Liu (dliu@pablonerudaacademy.org) indicating your interest and if you want to take the training for P credit; Professional Development hours; or be paid training rate.
