Procedures for signing in and out
The protocol and mandates for schools entering attendance has changed at the school level.  Due to this shift we have to put in place a slightly different system so that we can insure we manage all attendance on our own without central audits.  Starting Wednesday September 16th all staff will be required to punch in if they arrive late in addition to signing in.  All staff will also be required to punch out as well as sign out when leaving early.  To help streamline this process, there will be a second timeclock and set of cards in Ms. Franqui’s office.  As per the staff handbook, the sign in sheet is available at the front desk at 7:30am, please ensure you sign in before 8:00am.  If you arrive late to work, please immediately sign in/punch in with Ms. Franqui.  With the new protocol, Ms. Franqui has to mark all staff present daily, which means if you do not sign in you are automatically marked absent until Ms. Franqui has an opportunity to reverse it.  With the new mandates I implore all staff to follow the procedure to avoid potential fines, suspensions, and terminations that may be levied by central offices.
Attendance 1st period
A team of teachers, support staff, and leadership met over the summer to make a decision to no longer flip our 1st and 3rd period classes.  We know that this decision greatly affects the 1st period classes in our school.  The attendance team will be pulling 1st period attendance from Skedula in order to make automated phone calls to students that were absent and late for 1st period.   This will only be done for classes that choose to use Skedula for attendance 1st period.  If you have any questions or need support around 1st period attendance, please contact Ms. Del Valle (jdelvalle@pablonerudaacademy.org)
Apply to be PNA Team Members and Leaders for select PNA Teams
In last week’s weekly update, the posting for Team Leaders were open to ALL staff.  This week, the posting for Team Members is open to the ALL staff.  If you are interested in joining one or more teams, please apply to the posting so that team leaders can begin to think about meetings times and goals.
Afterschool & Lunchtime Activities
In order to offer our extracurricular activities earlier in the school year, we ask that staff who are interested in starting an after school and/or lunch time activity fill out the School Activity Proposal Form by September 18th, 2015.  The form can be found at the following link:
Fall & Spring Curriculum Maps; Unit Plans
All curriculum maps (for the entire 2015 – 2016 school year) were due on Tuesday, September 8th. If your map is not going to be ready to submit, contact Mr. Liu immediately.  Unit plans are also due to your department heads by Friday, September 11th.
MOSL Data corrections
Teachers were given their MOSL Detail Data as well as their Advance Overall Rating Report via NYC DOE email last week.  Please review the students that were attached to you in your rating.  If there is an issue with student rosers, please inform Mr. Liu (dliu@pablonerudaacademy.org) with the students Last Name, First Name, ID #, course code and section by September 26th.
Achieve 3000 update
Many of you have asked if Achieve 3000 will be available this year.  Sign-in information will be given to us next week, and will be communicated to staff via email.  All students and all teachers will have access to the program.  If you have any questions about Achieve 3000 please contact Mr. Valencia (dvalencia@pablonerudaacademy.org).
Technology Maintenance
Please be advised that Mr. Romero has installed Deep Freeze on all school laptops.  If a laptop is not working, please restart the laptop and it will automatically return to the default settings.  Students will have to save work on USB drives or in the cloud and will not be able to save work directly on to the laptop.  If there are issue that cannot be solved by Deep Freeze, please use the technology maintenance form that is located on the PNA Google Site.
Classroom Libraries
As was the case last year, all classrooms must have a classroom library. Contact Ms. Del Valle if you need book shelves or books.  If you are moving books to another room or adding books to your library, please update the PNA Classroom Inventory Spreadsheet:
