Update Bulletin Boards -
A walkthrough will be conducted at the end of the day on Tuesday, December 15th.  As a reminder, a bulletin board does not need to be restricted to the final product; you may display the process of work that has been occurring in the classroom that will lead to the final product.   You may refer to the PNA staff handbook for additional information on bulletin board expectations:  https://sites.google.com/site/pablonerudaacademynyc/pna-staff-handbook
Passes and students leaving classroom
Especially with the holiday season upon us, it is important to be consistent to maintain our school’s Tone and Culture.  All students are required to have a pass before leaving your classroom.  If they don’t, a safety member will direct them to return to class.
Trips next week
Please note that there are many trips taking place this week (see calendar).  Be extra vigilent as you take attendance and ensure students who stay at school have meaningful work to do.  And as always, students need a signed permission slip to attend a trip.  Verbal consent is not permitted.
Students who have Long Term Absences
If a student returns to class after a return from a long absence, please update Ms. Millie via email or Skedula.  Ms. Millie will then be able to meet with the student as well as make contact to the household on your behalf.
PD Survey
Please help inform our future PD’s by completing our PD Survey for the six facets of understanding/clarifying purpose PD.
A copy of the lesson plan for the PD is available at the following link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wbGop_2GUXnaQcDrhm2JODK3k8iwSut9kRV4CKmAHKA/edit
Food Drive/Coat Drive
The Youth Service Club will be starting their holiday coat drive.  If you would like to donate coats, please see Ms. Reyes-Luciano, Mr. Canales, Mr. Talay, Ms. Hain.  Concurrently, Ms. Santos is collecting cans for City Harvest’s holiday food drive.  If you would like to donate canned foods, please see Ms. Santos.
Holiday Displays
Please be aware of and be sensitive to the significance of seasonal observances and religious holidays as we work to foster mutual understanding and respect for our school’s diverse religious, racial, ethnic and cultural heritages. The Constitution prohibits a school system from endorsing or promoting a particular religion or belief system.
School Communication Team Announcement
The School Communication team will be managing PNA’s first Twitter account.  The account is meant to be updated regularly so our parents and school community can stay informed of events happening in our school.  If you have a Twitter, you can follow the team @PNA_INFO. If you do not have a Twitter account, you can access the tweets at the following link: https://twitter.com/PNA_INFO. #PNA
