Superintendent Visit
On Monday, February 22nd the Superintedent of Bronx High Schools (Carron Staple) will be visiting our school.  She will be observing our instruction and school culture.  Throughout the day admin may be asking for artifacts on behalf of the visitors such as student work, student folders, etc.
Mid-Winter Recess – Securing of personal belongings and laptop carts
To prepare for the mid-winter recess please ensure all items are safely secured.  As stated in the PNA Staff Handbook, “ALWAYS lock your personal belongings and valuables such as purses, laptops, etc.  Lock each classroom door whenever you leave the room.”  Beginning 4th period on Friday, February 12th, some technology carts will be removed from classrooms in preparation for the break.
Individual Teacher Programs
Spring 2016 teacher programs are now posted on the PNA google site.  The programs can be found at the following link:
School Communication Team (Support and Follow)
The School Communication team is managing PNA’s first Twitter account.  The account is updated regularly so our parents and school community can stay informed of events happening in our school.  If you have a Twitter, you can follow the team @PNA_INFO. If you do not have a Twitter account, you can access the tweets at the following link: https://twitter.com/PNA_INFO. #PNA
Avonte’s law (Exit Alarms) - Updated
Stevenson Campus has activated the exit door alarms.  The doors with activated alarms will be clearly identified with an additional sign that reads, “this alarm is active.”  Don’t be “that adult.”  Alarms that are blinking green means “go” you may exit, alarms that are blinking red means “stop” you may not exit.  Exit doors that will directly affect staff and students were activated on February 2nd.
Pennies for Patients
Ms. Santos is leading her yearly campaign to collect donations for Pennies for Patients.  The proceeds will go to support Leukemia & Lymphoma Research, and collections will be accepted until the month of March.
Laundry Room
The Laundry Room located by room 449 is opened to all staff to use after school. You can obtain the key to the room from Ms. Santos or Ms. Del Valle.
Youth Court Referrals and Support
The PNA Youth Court is a great alternative to traditional disciplinary action.  If you have a situation where you believe an alternative disciplinary action may be a superior response, please use the Youth Court Referral form.  The form can be accessed at the form page on our PNA google site. (https://sites.google.com/site/pablonerudaacademynyc/pna-meeting-notes). If you have any questions about the Youth Court, please contact Mr. Dinner (ldinner@pablonerudaacademy.org).
