School Survey (Student) – Action Required
The NYC School Survey for students has arrived.   Please have students complete the surveys in SLC.  As in past years, there will be a pizza party for the grade that has the highest submission rate.  In order to be included in the tally, please submit completed surveys to Ms. Heller. The deadline for students to complete the survey is April 1st.  If you have any questions about the school survey, please contact Ms. Heller.
School Survey (Teacher) – Action Required
By April 1st: Submit the card or print out with your name on it to be entered in our gift certificate raffle.
Co-Planning opportunity
Thanks to the hard work of the Grants and Partnerships team, we were able to secure a grant to support the ELLs in our school.  Part of grant money will allow Ms. Linares and Ms. Theoharides to co-plan with teachers that do not have ELL push in services.  If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, you may contact Ms. Linares (wlinares@pablonerudaacademy.org) or Ms. Theoharides (NTheoharides@pablonerudaacademy.org) to set up your co-planning sessions.
Parent Visits
If you are planning to meet with a parent, please be sure to inform Ms. Santos in the process.  She is able to support the meeting scheduling as well as the completion of the parent survey.
Field Trip Calendar
There are a number of trips scheduled from now through May.  Please refer to the Field Trips calendar (shared with the staff earlier this year) prior to submitting a trip request to ensure availability.
Youth Court Referrals
The PNA Youth Court is a great alternative to traditional disciplinary action.  If you have a situation where you believe an alternative disciplinary action may be a superior response, please use the Youth Court Referral form or the Youth Court Referral function on Skedula.  The form can be accessed at the form page on our PNA google site. (https://sites.google.com/site/pablonerudaacademynyc/pna-meeting-notes). If you have any questions about the Youth Court, please contact Mr. Dinner (ldinner@pablonerudaacademy.org).
PNA Lesson Planning Process
During the last staff professional development, we were able to go through the PNA Lesson Planning process as a group.  Some teachers have asked to have the process readily available.  The PNA Lesson Planning Process has now been posted to our curriculum planning page.  The Process, as well as other curriculum resources, can be found at the following link: https://sites.google.com/site/pnacurriculumplanning/curriculum-planning-templates
Pennies for Patients (Deadline Approaching)
Ms. Santos is leading her yearly campaign to collect donations for Pennies for Patients.  The proceeds will go to support Leukemia & Lymphoma Research, and collections will be accepted until the end of March.
