Revised Teacher Schedules
In an effort to clearly show Circular Six and Advisory Prep times, the 2010-2011 Fall Semester Teacher Schedule has been re-formatted. All teachers will receive new schedules. No changes have been made to teaching assignments. Please be mindful of your scheduled Common Planning times and locations and Advisory Prep periods. Information on expectations for the work that is done during these times can be found in your Staff Handbook. Please contact any member of Administration with questions/concerns.

2nd Annual PNA Back to School Night
This Thursday, September 23rd PNA will hold our Back to School Night for Parents. The first portion of the evening will be a Parent Association meeting and Spring 2010 Awards Ceremony. Parents will then meet with teachers. Each grade team should continue planning for the time parents will spend with you. Please notify your Grade Team Leader if you are unable to attend.

Staff Attendance Procedures
As a reminder, teachers’ hours are 8:00am-2:50pm (1st-8th period teachers) or 8:40am-3:30pm (2nd-9th period teachers – except on Wednesday). The sign in sheet is located in the main office. At 8:15, the sign in sheet will be with Gizette in her office. If you arrive late, please report directly to Gizette and sign in.

Formal Observations
Formal observations begin this week. All teachers will receive one formal observation by November 12th. Information on formal observations (including the Formal Observation Rating Sheet) can be found in your Staff Handbook.

Discipline Code
All students will receive a copy of the NYC DOE Discipline Code during Advisory this week. Advisors should pick up the booklets and packet of activities from the AP’s Office Monday morning.

Circular Six Assignments (REMINDER)
All teachers have been assigned common planning for their professional period. Common planning periods and room assignments are listed on your schedule. Please ensure that you are using the PNA Common Planning Form each time you meet. You should assign one member of the planning team to be responsible for organizing and storing the forms. Occasionally you may be asked to submit these forms. Questions should be directed to me (scook6@schools.nyc.gov).
