Curriculum Audit Site visit

The site visit for our Curriculum Audit has been confirmed for Thursday, March 24th. As stated in this week’s Staff Meeting, this will be an all day visit, and the majority of time will be spent visiting classrooms. All teachers should expect multiple visitors on this day. Please see a member of administration if you need assistance in planning for this day. In addition, please ensure that (as always) you are attentive to the physical space both inside and outside of your classroom.

Spring Spirit Week & Dance

PNA’s spring Spirit Week is scheduled to take place Monday, March 21st through Friday, March 25th. Student Government is planning this event. Spirit Week will culminate in a dance for students. The dance will take place from 7:00-10:00 on Friday, March 25th. Chaperones are needed. Please see Ms. Heller (aheller7@schools.nyc.gov) if you would like to volunteer to chaperone. In addition, please see Mr. Dinner or Mr. Panzer if you would like to help plan for Spirit Week activities.

Procedures for Reporting an Absence

Attached to this week’s Weekly Update email was information from the PNA Staff handbook on procedures for reporting an absence. Minor adjustments have been made (changes are bolded). Please review the procedures and ensure that they are followed each time an absence becomes necessary. This information was given to you in the PNA Staff Handbook that you received in September. Questions should be directed to Mr. Liu (dliu2@schools.nyc.gov).

School Surveys

The school survey process is set to begin shortly. As a reminder, students, parents, and teachers will be filling out surveys. It is important that as many students, parents, and teachers as possible complete surveys in order to collect comprehensive data. These survey results will become part of our Progress Report assessment. Please look out for information on distribution to students and parents and begin to talk about the importance of filling out surveys in your advisories and when speaking with parents. Details will be communicated in the coming days.

Updated Spring Activities Schedule

This Spring PNA is offering additional lunchtime and afterschool activities for students. A copy of the schedule was placed in your mailbox. Please display the schedule in your room for students to reference. The schedule was also attached to this week’s Weekly Update email. See Ms. Heller (aheller7@schools.nyc.gov) if you have any questions.

1st Marking Period Grades

The first marking period for the spring term ends this Wednesday, March 9th. Marking period grades will be due by 8:00 am on Monday, March 14th. It is imperative that all grades are submitted on time due to the quick turnaround that is needed for distribution. Progress Reports will be distributed at Parent Conferences. Spring Parent Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, March 17th (evening), and Friday, March 18th (afternoon). More detailed information regarding Parent Conferences is coming soon. Mark your calendars!

Congratulations Mr. Renschak!!
