Monday, June 27 Schedule
Monday, June 27th is a full day for all students. A letter was mailed to all homes, and phone calls are being made; you should expect students on this day. Please work with your grade team leaders for specifics on how the day will run for your grade. Students will be dismissed at 2:49. Teachers who have been approved to attend graduation may leave at 1:00pm for Iona College. Ms. Heller will be the administrator on duty beginning at 1:00pm.

Tuesday, June 28 Schedule
Tuesday, June 28th will run on a Wednesday schedule. All teachers must report at 8:00am. Report cards are being distributed on this day. Please work with your grade team leaders for specifics on how the day will run for your grade. Information regarding teacher release on this day is being given to individual teachers during their end-of-year meeting with Ms. Cook. You must have this meeting prior to leaving on June 28th. In addition, once your release form is complete and you are ready to leave for the year, you should sign the release form and give it directly to Ms. Cook. Contact Ms. Cook if you have questions about these procedures.

Digital Teacher Corps Call for Applicants
New Visions for Public Schools is accepting applications for their Digital Teacher Corps. Teachers who are interested in experimenting with creative ways of using interactive media and technology in their teaching should apply. Six teachers will be selected to receive up to $3,000 in per-session. Selected teachers will get a chance to work with talented technologists, designers, and other experts to create real examples of what digital learning can look like to improve student engagement, motivation, and success. Teacher Gradebooks (REMINDER)
As you close out the 2010 – 2011 school year, please ensure that you keep your gradebook for all of your classes. All teachers are required to keep a copy of their gradebooks for seven years before disposing of them. If you would like the school to archive your gradebook for you, please submit a copy to Gizette prior to your departure on Tuesday, June 28th.

Network Summer PD Opportunity (REMINDER)
Our network is hosting a four day summer institute around planning and implementing the New York State Common Core Standards. Creating and implementing a performance task that is aligned to the Common Core Standards will be a requirement for all teachers next year. This four day institute will aide teachers in understanding and beginning this work. The institute will take place July 11 through July 14 from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
