Spring 2012 Credit Recovery Posting

There are four spring credit recovery per session positions available. 1 English, 1 Math, 1 Social Studies, and 1 Science teacher will supervise credit recovery once a week for one hour. NYC Writing Project’s Summer Program

This summer marks the NYC Writing Project’s 33rd year providing inspiring summer programming for NYC teachers. This summer the NYCWP is offering an Advanced Summer Institute - The Uncommon Core: Creative Approaches to Working with Narrative, Argument, and Informational Text. The Advanced Institute is geared toward committed educators who have previous experience with the Writing Project and/or a solid foundation in composition studies/the teaching of writing. The Advanced Institute provides opportunities for teachers to read, write, and think together about the connections among narrative, argument, and informational text. fellows will create original writing in different genres, plan instruction aligning to reading and writing strands of the CCLS, and plan a PD workshop to share with their schools. Declaration of Intention Form (Preference Sheets) - REMINDER

Declaration of Intention Forms (Preference Sheets) will be place in your mailbox on Monday, April 16th. All teachers should fill out a form and submit them to Ms. Cook no later than Monday, April 30th. See Ms. Cook (scook6@schools.nyc.gov) if you have questions or need assistance filling out the form.

Open Market Hiring System - REMINDER

The New York City Open Market Hiring System opens in Sunday, April 15th and will be available through August. This system is used by teachers and other staff to view and apply for opportunities across the city. The system can be accessed at the following link:

Youth Court Referral Form - REMINDER

A Youth Court Referral Form has been created and added to the PNA site. This form can be used by all staff to refer a student to our Youth Court. Staff Entry & Re-Entry Update - REMINDER

Due to the feedback the campus received from tweed after the soft lockdown GRP drill, there are new procedures for entry through the front of the building. All staff should be prepared to show their PNA IDs when entering throughout the day. Please ensure you have your ID card with you at all times. If you have not received your staff ID card, see Pedro.
