Professional Contributions Form (REMINDER!)
Teachers will be completing a Mid-Year Self-Assessment and will be receiving a Mid-Year Report. In an effort to collect data to inform the report, all teachers should complete the Professional Contributions form. The form should be completed by Friday, January 18th and can be found at the following link:
January Regents Exam & Proctoring Schedules (UPDATED)
January Regents exams will take place from Tuesday, January 22nd through Friday, January 25th. The exam schedule can be found at the following link: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B61KP63aTacYYWdoZzMwbl9lVDg
Proctor schedules have been sent to PNA emails. A comprehensive proctoring schedule can be found at the following link:
Please note there may be slight adjustments to the proctoring schedule due to the DOE’s decision to have schools grade their own Global History Regents exams. You will receive an email from Ms. Heller if your schedule is being impacted. Contact Ms. Heller (aheller@pablonerudaacademy.org) if you have questions or concerns.
Parent Outreach for Students in Danger of Failing
The final Fall marking period ends on Friday, January 18th. These grades will be uploaded onto student transcripts. Parents should not be surprised that their student has failed. All teachers must ensure that they have contacted the homes of students who are in danger of failing for the Term. Ms. Santos is available to assist with translation.
Leaving Students Unattended and Dismissing Early
As a reminder, students should never be left unattended, even for a brief time. Additionally, teachers should provide instruction through the end of the class period, and students should not be let out prior to the end of a period (especially at the end of the day). If your classroom does not have a working clock, please fill out the Supply Request Form and request a classroom clock.
Bathroom Passes and Classroom Logs
All classrooms are required to have a log of students who are allowed to leave with the bathroom pass. This can be the same log that is used to record late students. Please ensure that your classroom has a bathroom log and that all students are required to sign-out when they are taking the pass to leave the classroom.
Fundraising
The DOE has strict guidelines for schools around fundraising. All school-sponsored fundraisers are required to have been approved by administration. Individual students should not be selling anything. Notifications of fundraisers will be communicated through the Weekly Update. Please note that baked goods and other non-packaged food items are completely prohibited. Students caught selling items without authorization are subject to disciplinary action. Additionally, staff members should report students who they observe selling items. Any staff member who purchases unauthorized items or fails to report a student selling unauthorized items is also subject to disciplinary action. Contact Mr. Liu (dliu@pablonerudaacademy.org) if you have questions.
Staff Picture Day
Staff Picture Day is Monday, January 14th. Pictures will be taken in the library. All staff should get their picture taken for the yearbook. Pictures will be taken from 10:00 to 1:30 and staff can go down anytime during that window. Contact Ms. Heller (aheller@pablonerudaacademy.org) if you have questions.
Regents Prep Classes (REMINDER)
Regents Prep classes begin this week and continue through next week. Please assist with distributing the information to students and encourage them to attend all exams on their schedule. Students will receive their schedule on Monday. If a student needs a copy of their schedule, they should go to the main office after school. Schedules are also being mailed to all homes.
Academic Rigor Walkthrough (REMINDER)
An Academic Rigor Walkthrough is being conducted beginning Monday, January 7th through Friday, January 18th. Data will be conducted around select Danielson elements aligned to the Academic Rigor area of the PNA Instructional Rubric. The PNA Instructional Framework Rubric can be found at the following link: https://sites.google.com/site/frameworkrubric/.
