Fall 2013
Teaching Assignments
Fall 2013 teaching assignments will be emailed to teachers at the end of
the day on Monday, June 3rd. Information about the assignment
includes assigned department and grade team. Teachers will need this
information for Thursday’s grade team meetings. Additionally, special education
teachers will need this information in order to determine the department
meetings they will be joining on the 6th. Proctoring schedules will
also be emailed by the morning of Friday, June 7th. Contact Mr. Liu

Staff Entry
Reminders
As a reminder, any staff member who enters through the staff entry door
at the back of the 180 cafeteria may be asked to show ID. The staff entry door
is available from 7:30 to 8:30. All staff must use the entry at the front of
the building before 7:30 or after 8:30. Contact Mr. Liu (dliu@pablonerudaacademy.org) if

Luncheon
As in the past, on June 6th’s PD day PNA will have a staff
luncheon. This luncheon will be a potluck. Everyone is encouraged to bring a
dish to share. Mr. Torres will be coordinating this event. Staff will be asked

Prom
This year’s Senior Prom will take place on Wednesday, June 5th
from 7pm to 11pm at Split Rock Golf Course in the Bronx. Students are paying
$80 and staff members are offered a discounted rate of $40 to attend. It will
be an amazing time for students and staff. It is fast approaching! See Ms.
Heller to purchase your tickets.

License
Plate Collection
As a result of the high volume of cars parking in the main campus parking
lot behind the building as well as several other safety concerns (including
cars parking illegally, blocking access for deliveries to the kitchen, etc.),
several changes will now take place. Staff members’ car license plates are
required to be registered with the school. Parking spaces will be re-painted
and cars are only allowed to park in appropriately designated spaces.
Cars parking in handicapped parking spaces are required to display a state.
Shield. Parking will continue to be on a first come basis. All other cars must
utilize street parking. In the near future, the campus will be provided
services of a private contractor to tow illegally parked or unregistered cars.
Retrieval of cars and expense for towing is the responsibility of the owner. To

Teachers of
Tomorrow
PNA will continue to be a Teachers of Tomorrow (TOT) school next school year. Teachers of Tomorrow is
a program funded by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) to help
recruit new teachers and retain existing teachers in our most high-need
schools. Some teachers may be eligible for awards of $3,400 per year
for up to a total of four consecutive years; current teachers may be eligible
for up to $2,100 per year in tuition reimbursement towards their first master’s
degree. Those teachers who are eligible will receive instructions early next week via
DOE email on how to register for this award (the deadline is June

Windows and Air Conditioners
As the weather warms, all staff should check to ensure all windows are
closed and air conditioners are turned off before leaving each day.

Hiring System
The New York City Open Market Hiring System opens Monday, April 15th
and will be available through August. The system is used by teachers and other
staff to view and apply for opportunities across the city. Once open, the
