Annual Family Back-to-School Night & Honor Roll Celebration
Thursday,
September 26th is the
annual PNA Family Back-to-School Night. Parents are invited to the school to
meet their students’ teachers and visit their classrooms. A Spring Honor Roll
Celebration will also take place. This is an important opportunity for staff to
meet parents and welcome them to PNA for the school year. All staff is strongly
encouraged to attend. Please ensure that your bulletin boards have something
related to your classroom, school-wide routines or the Instructional Focus
(i.e. student work, course information, lesson/unit information, etc.).

Individual
Student Passes
All classrooms have
a pass that should be used when students are leaving the room to go to the
bathroom or get a drink of water. Individual passes should be used when
students are sent out for any other reason (i.e. going to the main office,
seeing another teacher, etc.) Passes will be in teacher’s mailboxes next week.
You are not required to use these passes, but may help to write a quick pass
for a student. See Ms. Heller if you need additional passes.

Social
Work Office Brochure
The Social Work Ofice has created a brochure to help parents, students and staff become more informed about the services provided. The Social Work Office consists of a Social Worker and four Social Work Interns. Some of the ways we can help is by meeting with students in crisis, students in temporary housing support, providing mandated counseling, holding mediations with students, making referrals to outside agencies, respect for all / bullying prevention talks, pregnancy prevention talks, concerns regarding substance abuse, physical or sexual abuse, etc.
If you have any concerns about a student which involves the student hurting themselves or others please tell the Social Work Office IMMEDIATELY. Teachers and school staff are some of the most influential people in a teenager's life. Please continue to support our students but do not give out your personal information or facebook information for your safety and theirs. Students understand that we are here to teach, mentor, support and protect them but that we are not their friends. The stability, empathy, encouragement and consistency we provide in their lives is necessary and always welcomed in the long run.
Please feel free to drop by the Socila Work Office Room 490, to pick up a brochure and meet with Ms. Millie and the Social Work staff if you need assistance or have any questions or concerns.
