Thank you to all staff
The admin team would like to thank the staff for their commitment to the school.  Assistant Superintendent Sabrina Cook had only positive comments about our classrooms and our school overall and trusted that the work we are doing in our respective teams will address our next steps.  One thing she mentioned that I would like to share with the school is that teachers and staff clearly have more input and are taking ownership of school-wide initiatives, which is a positive step in the right direction.

At this time of year when we are running on fumes, and still have two weeks to prepare our students for the end of the term, it is comforting to hear that our work for this year has had a positive impact on the school culture and ultimately our students.  We have the best school on Stevenson Campus, so now let’s crush the competition by making the school even better.  Thank you all for your contributions so far this year, and let’s finish strong.
June 2nd Schedule
June 2nd is a state Regents exam day, only students that are taking the common core English exam will be in attendance.  Individualized schedules for June 2nd will be emailed to you by Monday.  If you have any questions about June 2nd, please contact Ms. Heller (aheller@pablonerudaacademy.org)
Bulletin Board removal for Art Show
Art will be displayed in the 9th and 10th grade wings for our annual art show.  Please support our art teachers by removing student work from boards and display cases by Friday June 5th, so that they may begin preparations in advance of the show.
Parent outreach for students in danger of failing
Please ensure that you are reaching out to parents when students are not meeting classroom expectations.  The final marking period will end June 15th.  Parents should not be surprised of student failures once they receive their report card.  We must ensure that they have been contacted and informed.  Ms. Santos (ysantos@pablonerudaacademy.org) is available to assist with the contact and translation.
Installation of Deepfreeze to all student technology
The school will begin installing deepfreeze on all student technology.  The program allows the computer to reset to its original state every time the item is shutdown.  This will mean that all work must be saved on either mobile drives or in the cloud.  If you or your class have documents on the devices that cannot be transferred before the end of the year, please notify Mr. Romero (aromero@pablonerudaacademy.org)
Inappropriate clothing
With the weather getting warmer, this is just a reminder to all staff to inform the safety team or administration when there is a student that is inappropriately dressed.
Summer School
Teachers and Paraprofessionals that are interested in working traditional summer school, and/or any other paid work for schools this summer must apply to do so at the Summer School Online Application.  Completing the application only makes you eligible to be hired for summer positions, and does not guarantee work.  The Summer School Online Application may be found at the following link: https://www.nycenet.edu/summerjobs/
Open Market Hiring System
The New York City Open Market Hiring System opened Wednesday, April 15th and will be available through August. The system is used by teachers and other staff to view and apply for opportunities across the city. Once open, the system can be accessed at the following link:
