School Communication Team Announcement
The School Communication team will be managing PNA’s first Twitter account.  The account is meant to be updated regularly so our parents and school community can stay informed of events happening in our school.  If you have twitter, you can follow the team @PNA_INFO. If you do not have a twitter account, you can access the tweets at the following link: https://twitter.com/PNA_INFO. #PNA
SESIS
As a follow-up from last Friday’s staff meeting, all teachers have access to SESIS.  This system, can be accessed anytime, from any computer, at the following site: https://sesis.nycenet.edu/ using your DOE login and password.  SESIS includes all current and past documents related to a student’s IEP.  The key pages to begin reviewing are: Present Levels of Performance, Annual Goals, Recommended Special Education Program/Services, Testing Accomadations.  For more information see the Staff Handbook or reach out to a SpEd teacher.
Safety and Discipline Support
Please continue to be at the classroom doors and getting students into the classroom.  Your support will allow safety and support staff to focus on more serious offenses that may occurred.
General Response Protocol (GRP) – Evacuation and Re-Entry
During an evacuation, teachers need to take with them the Assembly Card, as well as the class attendance.  Teachers then lead students out of the building.  Once outside, it is expected that you use the Assembly Card and stay with your class.  Upon Re-Entry of the building, you should lead your class to the scanning area by the general parking lot before you enter the building.  If you have any questions about the General Response Protocol, please refer to the GRP Poster in your classroom or contact Ms. Del Valle (jdelvalle@pablonerudaacademy.org).
Paper Requests
Our school has inherited a lot of legal size paper in all different colors.  Using these supplies will allow us to save funds in our year of fiscal crisis.  If you are able to use legal in lieu of letter size paper, please indicate it on your supply request submission.
Youth Court Referrals and Support
The PNA Youth Court is a great alternative to traditional disciplinary action.  If you have a situation where you believe an alternative disciplinary action may be a superior response, please use the Youth Court Referral form.  The form can be accessed at the form page on our PNA google site. (https://sites.google.com/site/pablonerudaacademynyc/pna-meeting-notes). If you have any questions about the Youth Court, please contact Mr. Dinner (ldinner@pablonerudaacademy.org).
Field Trip Request
Please be advised that field trip requests should be made at least two weeks in advance.  This will allow ample time for admin to ensure the date does not interfere with other events, as well as time to set up transportation and permission slips.  Once your trip has been approved, you will receive the approved permission slip for student distribution.
Mercy College Graduate Coursework Opportunity
