PD Survey
Please help inform our future PDs by completing our PD Survey for the Six Facets of Understanding.
Lesson Plan (Reminder)
As a reminder, the expectation is that a copy of your lesson plan will be in the door basket outside your room each day.  Alternatively, you may keep an additional copy of your lesson plan in a binder or folder labeled “Lesson Plan” on your teacher desk.  Your observation rating will be negatively impacted if there is no lesson plan available.
Avonte’s law (Exit Alarms) - Updated
Stevenson Campus will begin to activate the exit door alarms in January.  The exits will be activated on a rolling basis, and doors with activated alarms will be clearly identified with an additional sign that reads, “this alarm is active.”  Don’t be “that adult.”  Alarms that are blinking green are not active, alarms that are blinking red are active.  Exit doors that will directly affect staff and students are expected to be activated the week of Jan 18th.
Passes and students leaving classroom
It is important to be consistent to maintain our school’s Tone and Culture.  All students are required to have a pass before leaving your classroom.  If they don’t, a safety member will direct them to return to class.
Attendance 1st period
A team of teachers, support staff, and leadership met over the summer to make a decision to no longer flip our 1st and 3rd period classes.  We know that this decision greatly affects the 1st period classes in our school.  The attendance team pulls 1st period attendance from Skedula in order to make automated phone calls to students that were absent and late for 1st period.   This will only be done for classes that choose to use Skedula for attendance 1st period.  If you have any questions or need support around 1st period attendance, please contact Ms. Del Valle (jdelvalle@pablonerudaacademy.org)
Youth Court Referrals and Support
The PNA Youth Court is a great alternative to traditional disciplinary action.  If you have a situation where you believe an alternative disciplinary action may be a superior response, please use the Youth Court Referral form.  The form can be accessed at the form page on our PNA google site. (https://sites.google.com/site/pablonerudaacademynyc/pna-meeting-notes). If you have any questions about the Youth Court, please contact Mr. Dinner (ldinner@pablonerudaacademy.org).
School Communication Team Announcement
The School Communication team is managing PNA’s first Twitter account.  The account is updated regularly so our parents and school community can stay informed of events happening in our school.  If you have a Twitter, you can follow the team @PNA_INFO. If you do not have a Twitter account, you can access the tweets at the following link: https://twitter.com/PNA_INFO. #PNA
