Quality Review
As a reminder, we will have visitors on Tuesday, April 12th who will be observing our instruction and school culture.  Throughout the day admin may be asking for artifacts on behalf of the visitors such as student work, student folders, etc.  Please ensure you have a printed lesson plan accessible in your classroom.
Differentiated PD Session
The Educational Technology team will be offering differentiated PD sessions next Friday.  A sign up sheet will be left at the front desk for teachers to sugn up for each session:
·          Reverse Classroom – Using Screencast o’magic to record mini lessons
·          YouTube in classrooms – Using YouTube without internet access
·          Skedula and Google Drive – Using Skedula to assign Google Document Assignments for students
·          SMART Notebook – Introduction to using the SMART Notebook in order to create separate lessons to each class
Declaration of Intent forms
Declaration of intent forms have been placed in all teacher mailboxes.  Please fill out all sections and return to Mr. Valencia by May 6th 2016.  A copy of the form canbe found at the following link: https://drive.google.com/a/pablonerudaacademy.org/file/d/0B3PxGWud2LygcVktMm1Fc0w1V0E/view?usp=sharing
NYSESLAT Testing - Speaking
All ELL students are required to take the NYSESLAT each spring.  The first of the five parts of the exam is the Speaking section.  Ms. Wanda and Ms. Niove will be pulling students out of class individually to administer this portion of the exam.  The Speaking administration will take place from April 13th – 22nd.
Co-Planning opportunity
Thanks to the hard work of the Grants and Partnerships team, we were able to secure a grant to support the ELLs in our school.  Part of the grant money will allow Ms. Linares and Ms. Theoharides to co-plan with teachers that do not have ELL push in services.  If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, you may contact Ms. Linares (wlinares@pablonerudaacademy.org) or Ms. Theoharides (NTheoharides@pablonerudaacademy.org) to set up your co-planning sessions.
Youth Court Referrals
The PNA Youth Court is a great alternative to traditional disciplinary action.  If you have a situation where you believe an alternative disciplinary action may be a superior response, please use the Youth Court Referral form or the Youth Court Referral function on Skedula.  The form can be accessed at the form page on our PNA google site. (https://sites.google.com/site/pablonerudaacademynyc/pna-meeting-notes). If you have any questions about the Youth Court, please contact Mr. Dinner (ldinner@pablonerudaacademy.org).
