Professional Development survey (Reminder)–
If you have not done so already, please fill out the PD Survey Form for the Staff PD on October 14th.  The form can be accessed on the following link:
Bullying prevention month
The PNA Social Work Office will have an information Q & A in the cafeteria during the week of October 17th.  If you need resources or would like Ms. Millie to push into your classes to speak about Bullying in the month of October, please contact Ms. Millie (mreyesluciano@pablonerudaacademy.org)
Newsletter submission
We are gathering information, updates, celebrations for the November newsletter.  Our goal this year is to create a newsletter that includes more staff-submitted entries and pictures and to communicate more grade/department/activity specific items with families.  These can include upcoming events, past trips to celebrate, awards and recognitions, etc. Please forward anything you would like to include to Ms. Heller (Aheller@pablonerudaacademy.org) by Tuesday so that we can format appropriately for all the information we have.
7th period daily attendance (UPDATE)
The NYCDOE ATS system is unable to be used for our needs at this time.  While the central team is working on a solution, we will be adopting the same policy as 1st period attendance calls.  The attendance team will be pulling 7th as well as 1st period attendance from Skedula in order to make automated phone calls to students that were absent and late for 1st period and/or absent for 7th period.
Supply Request
If you are planning a school event that requires supplies such as napkins, or plates, please use the supply request form so that these items may be set aside for you in advance.  Please be advised that each teacher is allotted 15 reams of paper per semester and may continue to request for those resources on the same supply request form.
Skedula Anecdotal – Incorrect Contact Information
Please note that there is an anecdotal tab for “Incorrect contact information.” If you discover that any part of a student’s Skedula contact information is incorrect during your parent outreach, please use this tab.  Skedula will automatically email the attendance team to follow up.
Afterschool & Lunchtime Activities – Sharing with Bronx Guild
Afterschool & Lunchtime Activities have begun. As a reminder, you must average 10 students for the club to be continued for the month of November.  All submission of per session or daytime activity coverages for clubs must be accompanied by a student sign in sheet.  All clubs between Bronx Guild and Pablo Neruda Academy are being offered to both student populations.
Reimbursements for PBIS and School Supplies
Due to heavy restrictions from the Department of Education, any purchase that may require a reimbursement must be approved by Mr. Liu first.  In order to obtain approval, please submit the request on our supply request form.  As a reminder, items found in the www.shopdoe.com system have less restrictions, as well as purchases that will be going toward teacher’s choice reimbursements.
