Consolidation Meeting
Our next Consolidation Planning meeting will be held on Monday, February 13th at 4:00 in room 426.  Participation is voluntary and open to all staff.  Our goal for this meeting is to create a ballot of possible school names to put to a vote by Friday, February 17th.  Please RSVP to dliu@pablonerudaacademy.org so that we can ensure there are enough resources for the meeting.
Respect for All Week (February 13-17)
In preparation for Respect for All Week, teachers are encouraged to reach out to Ms. Reyes-Luciano (mreyesluciano@pablonerudaacademy.org) in order to get support from the SW team to provide meaningful activities that focus on preventing bias-based harassment, intimidation and/or bullying.  SW interns are available to support CCR teachers and classrooms for this week.
Dress Code - Anecdotal
The “Dress Code Violation” anecdotal tab is to be used when you see a student wearing something that is not appropriate for school.  The ladder of discipline for dress code infractions is as follows: 1st Offense – Student receives a warning and a call home; 2nd Offense – Student receives lunch detention and a call home; 3rd Offense – Student is removed from the classroom for the day and a call is made to the parent; 4th Offense – Parent is contacted to pick up student from school or to bring a change of clothing.  Please contact Mr. Torres (ttorres@pablonerudaacademy.org) if you have any questions.
Passes and students leaving classroom
It is important to be consistent to maintain our school’s Tone and Culture.  All students are required to have a pass before leaving your classroom.  If they don’t, a safety member will direct them to return to class.
Safety Team Transition Contest
As a reminder the Safety team will be awarding an additional $50 a month for PBIS for the grade team that demonstrates the most effort and results in shortening student transition times.
Consolidation Questions
On Tuesday, January 17th, Superintendent Staple informed both Pablo Neruda Academy and The Bronx Guild that there is a proposal for the schools to consolidate.  The primary factor in this decision is the declining and stagnating registers of both schools.  We have created a form for questions as we move forward with the proposal.  Questions will be answered on an ongoing basis.  The form can be found at the following link: https://docs.google.com/a/pablonerudaacademy.org/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc7e0vmpCHmjorueR2-OlUkagTu5rCsZmUjL3lG09QcCIN58Q/viewform
