Superintendent Visit
On Wednesday, February 8th the Superintendent of Bronx High Schools (Carron Staple) will be visiting our school.  She will be observing our instruction and school culture.  Throughout the day admin may be asking for artifacts on behalf of the visitors such as student work, student folders, etc.  She will be looking for continuity in all classrooms around the work we are doing: Life Skills/PBIS; Lesson Plans, Literacy Plan/Datacycle; Etc.
IMPACT Visit
The Office of School & Youth Development (OSYD) will be conducting a half-day review of the Stevenson Campus on Tuesday. OSYD will be observing scanning, hallways, and classrooms throughout the day. They will also be meeting with staff members that have the most direct influence on student social emotional development. Contact Mr. Liu(dliu@pablonerudaacademy.org) if you have questions or concerns.
Consolidation Meeting
The first Consolidation Planning meeting will be held on Wednesday February 8th at 3:45 in room 401.  Participation is voluntary and open to all staff.
Respect for All Week (February 13-17)
In preparation for Respect for All week, teachers are encouraged to reach out to Ms. Reyes-Luciano (mreyesluciano@pablonerudaacademy.org) in order to get support from the SW team to provide meaningful activities that focus on preventing bias-based harassment, intimidation and/or bullying.  SW interns are available to support CCR teachers and classrooms for this week.
Passes and students leaving classroom
It is important to be consistent to maintain our school’s Tone and Culture.  All students are required to have a pass before leaving your classroom.  If they don’t, a safety member will direct them to return to class.
Safety Team Transition Contest
As a reminder the Safety team will be awarding an additional $50 a month for PBIS for the grade team that demonstrates the most effort and results in shortening student transition times.
Consolidation Questions
On Tuesday, January 17th, Superintendent Staple informed both Pablo Neruda Academy and The Bronx Guild that there is a proposal for the schools to consolidate.  The primary factor in this decision is the declining and stagnating registers of both schools.  We have created a form for questions as we move forward with the proposal.  Questions will be answered on an ongoing basis.  The form can be found at the following link: https://docs.google.com/a/pablonerudaacademy.org/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc7e0vmpCHmjorueR2-OlUkagTu5rCsZmUjL3lG09QcCIN58Q/viewform
