Consolidation Updates
Unfortunately even with
Superintendent support, our request to change the name to Academic Community
for Excellence was denied due to its similarity to another school: “The School
for Excellence.” The second most popular choice, Literacy, Internship, and
Technology High School, also was not approved.
The Office of School Design stated that we should go through the process
once again and submit a new request as soon as possible.
We will be holding a Consolidation
Committee meeting on Monday, March 6th at 4pm in room 401 to
create a new school name. Please bring
technology if you plan on being a part
of the process. Keep in mind the Public
Hearing is also scheduled for that night at 6pm.

ISA Summer Institute
The Institute for Student Achievement organizes a Summer Institute annually.
The Summer Institute is designed for individual schools to develop and
create strategic plans for the new school year.
If you are interested in participating we ask that you fill out the
following form. Room and board will be provided
to participants. This would be a great
opportunity for us to come together as a community. The Institute will be held at the Glen Cove
Mansion Hotel in Glen Cove, NY from the evening of June 28th to the
afternoon of June 30th.

PROSE Day changes
Unfortunately due to the snow day on February 9, 2017,
the DOE will be rescinding the PROSE day on June 27th, 2017. Therefore, June 27th, 2017 will be

Contest
