Staff Meeting

This Wednesday will be our first Staff Meeting for the month. We will meet as a full staff to review the calendar, get team updates, and get an overview of our school’s SINI (School In Need of Improvement) status from the state. It is important that all staff attend and get this information.

Observations and Walkthroughs

Observations and walkthroughs will continue next week. This includes visits to Advisory classes. Please ensure that you have a lesson plan accessible at all times.

Reminder about Guidelines for Holiday Displays

NYC is a diverse multi-cultural community. It is our responsibility as educators to foster mutual understanding and respect for the many beliefs and customs stemming from our community’s religious, racial, ethnic, and cultural heritage. Therefore, we must be cognizant of and sensitive to the special significance of seasonal observances and religious holidays. At the same time, we must be mindful that the Constitution prohibits a school system from endorsing or promoting a particular religion or belief system. If you would like to display cultural and holiday symbols, please see a member of administration so we can ensure that all DOE guidelines are followed. In addition, please refer to Chancellor’s Regulation A-630 for information regarding religious observance by students. http://schools.nyc.gov/RulesPolicies/ChancellorsRegulations/default.htm

Winter Saturday Academy & Regents Prep
