Quality Review

Our Quality Review has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 9th and Thursday, February 10th. We will be preparing for this comprehensive qualitative assessment beginning this week. Click the following link for information regarding the NYC Quality Review process, including rubrics. http://schools.nyc.gov/Accountability/tools/review/default.htm.

Breakfast in the Classroom

Breakfast in the Classroom begins this week. This program gives students the opportunity to eat breakfast in their first period class. Some students arrived late because they stop to purchase food and eat prior to coming to school. Breakfast in the Classroom will assist us in our continued efforts to increase first period attendance by getting to students in school and into class earlier. Please help us implement this in your first period classes. See Ms. Heller (aheller7@schools.nyc.gov) if you have any questions.

PNA Youth Service Club Coat Drive

The PNA Youth Service Club is holding a Coat Drive for the Campus beginning Monday, January 3rd. Club members will be taking the coats to a distribution center on the 20th to help with sorting. Please take part in this charitable event. If you have questions, please see Mr. Barnes.

Advisory Walkthrough Results

The administrative team conducted walkthroughs of advisory classes on each grade level. The focus for these walkthroughs was Engagement. To view the best practices that were observed, please see the document entitled “Advisory Walkthrough – December” which was attached to this week’s Weekly Update email.

4th Marking Period Report Card Grades Due

Report Card grades are due on Wednesday morning. EGG files were emailed to you the week before vacation. Report Card grades include work completed during the 3rd and 4th marking periods. As a reminder, if you are using Teacher Ease, you do not have to submit an EGG file. Contact David (dliu2@schools.nyc.gov) with any questions or concerns.

Fundraising

There is a new form that should be submitted prior to beginning any fundraising. The PNA Fundraising Request Form was attached to this week’s Weekly Update email. In addition, Chancellor’s Regulation A-610 was also attached. This regulation (entitled “Fund Raising and Collection of Money from Students”) details DOE policies regarding fundraising. Please consult this document while you are planning activities. See Ms. Heller (aheller@schools.nyc.gov) if you have any questions.
