PNA & Stevenson Campus Awarded Grants!
Thanks to the hard work of the Grants & Partnerships team, PNA has been awarded a Capital Budget Allocation from Bronx Borough President, Mr. Ruben Diaz. Mr. Diaz has awarded PNA $100,000 out of the fiscal year 2012 budget. This money will be used to purchase additional laptops, carts, and printers.
The Stevenson Campus has been awarded a federal grant for a full health clinic for students. Students will be able to get their medical, dental, and mental health needs met while at school. Thank you to everyone who signed to letter of support earlier this year!

Summer School
Session Three Credit Recovery begins this week. Summer classes run Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to 11:00 and 11:10 to 1:40. Students are recovering credits in the following courses during session 2:
- Physical Education in the morning with Mr. Aleman
- Art in the afternoon with Ms. O’Connell

Regents Preparation, Proctoring, and Grading
Teachers are need for Regents preparation for the August administration. Regents prep classes will run for two sessions at two hours each beginning on August 10th and ending on August 16th. Teachers are needed for the following prep classes:
- Global Studies & US History: 1 teacher needed
- English (2 sessions): 1 teacher needed
- Living Environment (2 sessions): 1 teacher needed
- Integrated Algebra & Geometry: 1 teacher needed
Teachers are also needed for exam proctoring and grading. Summer Regents exams will be administered on Wednesday, August 17th and Thursday, August 18th. Friday, August 19th will be used for grading. If you are interested in assisting with preparation, proctoring, or grading, contact Mr. Liu (dilu2@schools.nyc.gov) as soon as possible.

Curriculum Week Cancelled (REMINDER)
Due to budget cuts, this year’s Curriculum Week has been cancelled. All teachers officially report on Tuesday September 6th. Teachers will engage in two full days of professional development on Tuesday, September 6th and Wednesday September 7th. As a reminder, curriculum maps aligned the new Common Core State Standards are due for all courses by the end of the day on Tuesday, September 6th. Teams and pairs of teachers are encouraged to utilize PNA space to work on curriculum planning throughout the summer. Interested teachers should contact Ms. Cook (scook6@schools.nyc.gov). PNA will be open on Monday, August 29th for teachers to come in a plan and set-up their classrooms.
