Superintendent visit
Superintendent Carron Staple will be visiting PNA on Monday, April 27th.  During her visit she may choose to visit your classroom, as well as look at your bulletin board.  Make sure to have printed lesson plans on this day.  This does not affect our Spirit Day, so feel free to move forward with dressing as Prince Charming or Cinderella.
PNA Field Day
This school year’s spring Field Day will take place Friday, May 1st. Instead of attending Department and Grade Team Meetings, all staff members will be participating in Field Day Activities.  A sign-up sheet will be placed next to the morning sign-in sheet.  Please sign-up for an activity that you are interested in.  If you have questions about Field Day, contact Mr. Torres (ttorres@pablonerudaacademy.org).
Update Bulletin Boards (Action Required)
Please ensure bulletin boards are updated and reflect current student work for parent teacher conferences.  A Physical Space Walkthrough will be conducted at the end of the day on Monday, May 4th.  See page 71 of the PNA Staff Handbook for additional information on bulletin board expectations: https://drive.google.com/a/pablonerudaacademy.org/file/d/0B3PxGWud2LygbTFKVG5OZGtiZDg/edit
NYSESLAT Testing
NYSESLAT testing for ELL students began last week.  The speaking test continues this week, with 2-4 students being pulled out each period for testing.  The following 2 weeks (5/4 – 15), all ELL students will be taking the remaining three portions of the exam.  A detailed schedule, which includes ELL teachers who will be proctoring and student groups that will be tested, was emailed out last week and can be found at the following link: https://drive.google.com/a/pablonerudaacademy.org/file/d/0B3PxGWud2LygNGR1MF9JVnhKSGM/view?usp=sharing
Book Club – Bronx Guild Invitation
Bronx Guild has started a book club that plans to meet the first Friday of each month.  The first book club discussion will happen on May 1st at 4:00pm at a TBD location in East Tremont.  The two books that will be discussed are The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman and Silence by Shusaku Endo.  If you are interested, you only need to read one of the two books.  If you have questions about the book club, you may contact Wyatt Matthews of Bronx Guild (wyatt.matthews@gmail.com).
PNA Dance Team
The after school dance teacher, Olisa Thompson, would like to extend an invitation to all staff members to be a part of a PNA staff dance.  Male and female staff members are welcomed to join.  No dancing experience required.  If you are interested in participating, please contact Ms. Ebonie (eraphael@pablonerudaacademy.org)
