on Tuesday January 17th
Superintendent Staple will be visiting us on January 17th.
She wanted an opportunity to address our staff as a whole. To accommodate her request we will be
cancelling all 9th period classes so that we can meet her in the
campus Library at 3:00pm. All staff members
that are able to stay after their scheduled school day will be paid overtime.

Peer Mediation - A
training opportunity for teachers
The Office of Safety and Youth Development is offering
professional development in conflict resolution to schools to build their
capacity to engage and empower students in creating and sustaining a safe and
supportive school environment for all students and staff. You are invited to be trained in Peer
Mediation to help address student-to-student conflicts. The Peer Mediation courses will be offered
over the course of 6 Saturdays starting February 11th. Participants will receive training
pay/overtime -or- P-Credit.

Restorative Justice and
classroom management support
As part of the NYCDOE’s support in youth development, a
Restorative Justice Coordinator, Joye Harper, will be available
Thursdays and Fridays to connect, observe, give feedback, and collaborate with
our staff on the effectiveness of using restorative practices in the
classroom. Staff who are interested in
support may connect with Ms. Harper at joyeharper@yahoo.com and/or stop by her
office in room 279. She is available for
class visits, demos, and one on one training.
