Individual Teacher Programs

Update Bulletin Boards -
In preparation for the spring semester and welcoming students back, please ensure bulletin boards are updated.  A walkthrough will be conducted at the end of the day on Monday, January 30th.  As a reminder, a bulletin board does not need to be restricted to the final product, you may display the process of work that has been occurring in the classroom that will lead to the final product.   You may refer to the PNA staff handbook for additional information on bulletin board expectations:  https://sites.google.com/site/pablonerudaacademynyc/pna-staff-handbook
Consolidation Questions
On Tuesday, January 17th, Superintendent Staple informed both Pablo Neruda Academy and The Bronx Guild that there is a proposal for the schools to consolidate.  The primary factor in this decision is the declining and stagnating registers of both schools.  We have created a form for questions as we move forward with the proposal.  Questions will be answered on an ongoing basis.  The form can be found at the following link: https://docs.google.com/a/pablonerudaacademy.org/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc7e0vmpCHmjorueR2-OlUkagTu5rCsZmUjL3lG09QcCIN58Q/viewform
Restorative Justice and classroom management support
As part of the NYCDOE’s support in youth development, a Restorative Justice Coordinator, Joye Harper, will be available Thursdays and Fridays to connect, observe, give feedback, and collaborate with our staff on the effectiveness of using restorative practices in the classroom.  Staff who are interested in support may connect with Ms. Harper at joyeharper@yahoo.com and/or stop by her office in room 279.  She is available for class visits, demos, and one on one training.
