NYSESLAT – NYSESLAT testing for ELLs is in progress. We will need to use open classrooms
throughout the day, please be prepared to have testing in your classrooms when
it is available. Please note that
individual students will be pulled out of class to take this portion of the

Consolidation Updates –
The newly
established consolidated Student Culture and Orientation Team have begun
working on events for staff and students; you can follow the work on the ongoing
Consolidation Agenda. Teacher preference sheets have been reviewed
and all staff will meet with Mr. Liu by end of May in regards to your initial
program for next year.

PROSE committee meeting –
There is a PROSE
committee meeting scheduled for next Monday at 4pm in room 498. The objective of this meeting is to establish
our school calendar and schedule to be voted on by the combined chapter via
SBO. All staff that are interested are welcomed
to the meeting. Light refreshments will
be served.

Please be advised that the Teacher’s
Lounge only has one copier on loan to us by Bronx Guild. We should be receiving 2 copiers next week,
one of which will be placed in the teacher’s lounge. Please keep this in mind for Monday morning.

Open Market Hiring System
The New York
City Open Market Hiring System has opened and will be available through August.
The system is used by teachers and other staff to view and apply for
opportunities across the city. The system can be accessed at the following

End of day procedures (Reminder)
All teachers
should ensure that students do not leave class before the end of the day bell
rings at 3:00PM/3:45PM. The tone
and culture of every class should promote students asking for permission to
leave the classroom, and not that students can freely walk in and out of class
during the lesson and at the end of the day.
All teachers must also ensure student chairs are put up at the end of
each day. Additionally, all student chairs should be taken down at the
beginning of each day. Please have students take down all chairs, even if
no one will be sitting in the chair during the period.

Google Classroom (Paid Training) – Mr. Munoz, at APPA in conjunction with Ilearn, is offering
Google Classroom PDs on our campus.
These trainings will be paid by the ILearn Office. The trainings are offered from 4-7pm on May
