NYSESLAT – NYSESLAT testing for ELLs begin this week. We will need to use open classrooms
throughout the day, please be prepared to have testing in your classrooms when
it is available. Please note that
individual students will be pulled out of class to take this portion of the
exam. A full schedule will be emailed
after the break.

we established the combined Student Culture and Orientation Team. The work can be found in our ongoing Consolidation Agenda. The next meeting will be held on May 10th

Consolidation Updates –
Sparking Conversations Roundtable
On June 22nd
the NYC Writing Project will be organizing a Sparking the Conversation
Roundtable during the day. The
conversation roundtable will allow teachers from both schools to speak on a
topic or celebration that you want to share.
If you are interested in facilitating a conversation on this day please
email Mr. Liu. There is a NYC Writing
Project Coach that will support planning the day as well as per session funding
for the planning of the day.

Open Market Hiring System
The New York
City Open Market Hiring System has opened and will be available through August.
The system is used by teachers and other staff to view and apply for
opportunities across the city. The system can be accessed at the following

End of day procedures (Reminder)
All teachers
should ensure that students do not leave class before the end of the day bell
rings at 3:00PM/3:45PM. The tone
and culture of every class should promote students asking for permission to
leave the classroom, and not that students can freely walk in and out of class
during the lesson and at the end of the day.
All teachers must also ensure student chairs are put up at the end of
each day. Additionally, all student chairs should be taken down at the
beginning of each day. Please have students take down all chairs, even if
no one will be sitting in the chair during the period.

ISA Summer Institute
The Institute for
Student Achievement organizes a Summer Institute
annually. The Summer Institute is
designed for individual schools to develop and create strategic plans for the
new school year. If you are interested
in participating we ask that you fill out the following form.
Room and board will be provided to participants. The Institute will be held at the Glen Cove
Mansion Hotel from the evening of June 28th to the afternoon of June
30th.

Google Classroom (Paid Training) – Mr. Munoz, at APPA in conjunction with Ilearn, is offering
Google Classroom PDs on our campus.
These trainings will be paid by the ILearn Office. The trainings are offered from 4-7pm on May
